Show your Original lyrics
I was thinking that most( if not all) on this blog write original lyrics or poems. so why not share them. this might be very uncomfortable for some but, i think that we have to put ourselves in uncomfortable places to make us better or at least get us to be less critical of our own work... so what do you think? should we set up a separate site where we could download songs we've created or what?....give me your thoughts.

Great topic Nate! At one time, I probably had 20 or so songs with no music and 20 or so songs with no lyrics. Never really put anything together. The lyrics are long gone and most of the music has faded from memory. As I got older and "wiser" the lyrics became less relevant and so into the trash they went. Gotta work on my OCD of getting rid of stuff! ;-D
sounds cool to me (and anyone can post any mp3's or song clips or text files, or whatever in the dropbox and provide a link to it)
should we make an 'official' post where all the lyrics can be posted (similar to the 'post album recommendations here' but for original lyrics)
or do you think we should make individual posts for each song we wanna share?
another option (assuming many of us are interested in this) is to share the lyrics in Google Docs and provide a link to the song in your post and then comments can be posted either here or on the Docs itself.

I would gladly offer my viewpoint on others' lyrics, although I won't post any of my own. :)
Google docs is probably the best bet for something like this.
so is it just me and Natron that aren't afraid to share? *cough*wussies
The only thing I see is The Nightengale Song and an ancient practice list? Are there other docs available?
not yet Johnny, that was just an example for people to see and to gauge interest in future lyric posting... so, after you read the post and consider the options, what say you?

I think Google Docs is cool but also an unnecessary step really. We are going to have to post a link here anyway so we might as well just post the entire lyrics and comments here as well. Personally, I think that one official post with people posting their lyrics in the comments is the better way to start out.
After the lyrics are posted the commentaries could be titled like this @the poster "song title comment so we don't get confused on what person and/or song we are referring.

Also, if someone wants to share an .mp3 of some original music then we could use utilize Dropbox.

my initial suggestion for doing it in Docs was so that it might not seem so daunting to have 'your' personal lyrics emblazoned on the front page for all to see... seems more personal to have it separate where only those who want to read lyrics can go to see them and comment on specific lines, etc.
the 'lyrics in comments' idea will prolly work too as long as we don't get too many postings (which from the interest shown so far, won't be a problem)
I'm not crazy with how Nathan just posted his... too much clutter, but i guess whatever's clever.
Well I also thought the front page post was supposed to be something like "Post Your Lyrics Here" and then the lyrics are posted in the comment section.
